Computers and education

Nowadays, technology is used in every aspect in(ww. of) our lives, in education, work and at home. Technology improved our lives a lot, made them easier and more comfortable. Computers are very helpful in the education institutes, like high schools and universities. Computers are used by students during classes and with their schoolwork at home. As a result of the technology's progression, people wonder whether computers will replace teachers in the future.

.

In my opinion, although the computers have been very useful and helpful in the education institutes, I believe that computers should not replace teachers. First of all, teachers do not only teach the material used to test(phr.). They also educate students to be better people by giving them (a) personal example and advice. Computers cannot give the students (a) personal example because of the fact that they are robots. Moreover, every teacher has his own teaching technique to keep the students focused. All computers and robots act the same and they cannot behave differently.

.

Furthermore, the percentage of unemployment in Israel is very high. If computers replace teachers the percentage of unemployment will increase. People will lose there jobs and the technology will eventually replace the place of intelligent people in our society. There will be no chance for people to study at universities in order to become teachers, because this job would be no longer available for human beans(sp.).

.

To conclude, in my opinion, the technology is very good and helpful, but it cannot take control of the education system. I think that teachers should be people with emotions and feelings, so they could achieve their goal of educate(gr.) the young generation.

Very good work!

The car accidents among teenagers

Nowadays we sadly hear about young drivers who are involved in many car accidents. Teenagers can get a driver's license at the age of 17. The organization of accident victims believes that this might be the reason for the rise in fatal accidents, and proposed that the age for getting a driver's license should be raised to 19.

.

As a 17 year old teenager, I agree that the age for getting a driver's license should be raised to 19. At the age of 17 teenagers are usually not mature, they tend to think that they are grown up and know everything, but the reality shows different. Everyday teenagers deal with lots of pressure at school, therefore, they suffer from a lack of sleep. lack of sleep may cause a lack of alertness and concentration, and this is very dangerous on the road.

.

Moreover, teenagers are not responsible enough at the age of 17. Although they are not allowed to drink alcohol, most of the teenagers usually do. Unfortunately, there are many incidents of drinking and driving among teenagers. Teenagers probably cannot understand the severity of their actions, and they cause many fatal accidents.

.

To sum up, I think that teenagers should focus on their studies and deal with the driver's license later in their lives. I believe that the ages of 19-20 is the ultimate age to start studying for a driver's license, when they are more mature and responsible. I hope that eventually the road would be a safer place, and teenagers would not get hurt by these stupid accidents.

The Internet

The internet, the greatest invention of the 20th century, includes Chartrooms, social networks, and unlimited sources of knowledge. The internet has changed our lives in many levels, made our lives easier, but at the same time a lot harder.

.

On the one hand, the internet made our lives easier by letting us find almost everything in one place. It helps us communicate with other people, share and receive information. Moreover, the internet offers fun activities, everyone can spend spare time by(מיותר) enjoying the options the internet has to offer.

.

On the other hand, the internet is a very dangerous place. It contains(ww.) many dangerous people, who can harm innocent children with no supervision. Furthermore, the internet exposes kids to violence and pornography, those things are very dangerous for children to be exposed to.

.

To sum up, I believe that the internet is very important in our lives and has definitely changed them for the best, but we have to be careful and aware of all the dangers that this great thing Includes.

It's good, but a bit too general. You need to expand a little further.

NO SMOKING

"NO SMOKING", we see signs like this in almost all the public places. On July 25th, 2007 a law was published which forbidden(gr.) smoking in public places. Since then, we can see a serious reduction(ww.) in the number of people smoking in public places. In my opinion, this law is very important and helps reduce the number of people that get lung Cancer among non smoking people.

.

First of all, smoking is the direct cause for(ww. - of) lung Cancer. When smoking is forbidden in public places like malls, restaurants, and schools, people actually smoke less than what they would smoke if the ban did not exist. Moreover, people who do not smoke are affected by the smoke of the ones who do smoke. As a result, passive smokers are more likely to have lung cancer, which usually leads to death.

.

Second of all, smoking in places like public schools and malls may have a bad influence (on)kids. Children who see grown ups smoke on a daily basis, may think that smoking is not that bad, and trying once would be harmless. This bad influence would cause a big rise in the number of smokers. Therefore, the law is obviously helping.

.

To conclude, the ban on smoking in public places is very important. This will reduce the amount of smoking and the number of people exposed to smoke. It helps "The Israel Cancer Association" fight with(ww.) the number of deaths from Cancer(phr. - cancer related illnesses).

Very good work.

True Friendship

One of the most important things in the world, according to most of the people, is their friends. It is an instinct of people to team up with and surround themselves with the ones they like and have a common denominator, and most people try to find special qualities in those friends.

.

First of all ,an important quality (in a friend) is loyalty. A real friend should be someone we can trust to always be on our side. Someone we can tell all our biggest secrets to, and be certain that no one else would find out about them. Loyalty is also about being there for each other, listening, and helping twenty four seven.

.

Another important quality is integrity. Every good friendship should be based on integrity and honesty. Lies and dishonesty hurt very much and relationships of any kind, (You are missing a word here) cannot be built on lies and hypocrisy. It is important to be honest first of all with ourselves and then with our society(ww.), in order to build healthy and real friendships.

.

To sum up, (a) true friendship is about sharing, loving, being honest, caring, loyalty, and finally being a good friend. Every one of us loves the good feeling of having a best friend and knowing that he would always be there for us for better and worse.

Well done!

Looking for help?

Station Manager,
"Galgalaz" radio station
14 Ilan street

Tel Aviv

Dir Sir/Madam,
.
I am writing this letter because I would like to suggest a special program for teens in your radio station. Your radio station has a lot of interesting programs but, unfortunately, there are no programs for teenagers who need advice.
.
A program which I believe would be good for teenagers is an advice program. On that program teenagers would be able to call the radio station anonymously
and discuss their problems or just share their life with a professional adult. The program would be named "Looking for help?" and would host a different professional psychologist every week.
.
Teenagers usually feel like no one understands them or wants to listen to them. Sometimes they are just embarrassed
to talk about their real problems with their family or friends. Therefore, I believe that if the teenagers are able to discuss anonymously their problems with a professional psychologist, they will feel more confident talking about their problems.

.

To conclude, I would like to recommend the new idea for a program on your radio station "Looking for help? ", which I believe could be very useful for teenagers. I would be grateful if you consider my suggestion.

.

Yours sincerely

.

Poland

The journey to Poland is the most amazing experience I have ever had in my life. Poland is the country where 6 million Jews were murdered in world war two, "the holocaust ". The journey to Poland is an organized trip from school, which takes the Jewish students to see in their own eyes the places where the horrors occurred. It was an exceptional experience and I would be more than happy to do it all over again,

..

The journey began on the February 28 at 7 am when we got on the airplane towards Poland. When we landed, we couldn't believe we were no longer in Israel. But, unfortunately, my luggage was left in Israel .I was very upset and wanted to return back home, but quickly forgot all about it and we continued with our journey. The journey took place in Kielce, Krakow, Birkenau, Auschwitz, Lublin, Majdanek, Treblinka, and Warsaw.

..

I think that the hardest part on the journey was in Majdanek. Majdanek was a work & destruction camp. There we saw all the gas cabins, the crematoriums, the shoe piles and the ash mountain, where all the Jews' ashes were piled up. When I saw all the shoes, I broke down emotionally and started crying. All the places we visited made the entire delegation feel home sick and proud of our country, Israel.

..

To conclude, I think that every Jewish student in Israel must go through this journey. It was definitely the most powerful experience I have ever experienced in my entire life. This experience will for ever be part of me and I will never forget it.

Family Tours Company

Alexander 12 Street

Tel Aviv

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to complain about the organized trip to Paris which I took recently. My family and I reserved your "Happy Paris" tour, but unfortunately it was not happy at all.

First of all, I would like to complain about your tour guide, his bad attitude and lack of patience were very disappointing. Instead of being nice and courteous, he was rude and unfriendly. I have participated in a lot of organized trips my entire life and I have never seen
such bad behavior from a tour guide.

.

Moreover, the hotel we stayed in was horrible. The rooms were small and dusty, and the bathrooms were filthy and uncomfortable. I was unsatisfied with the meals, which were disgusting and not satisfying . Furthermore, the hotel was situated far from the center of the city, so we couldn’t do anything while we were at the hotel, we had to stay in our dusty rooms and seek for entertainment.

.

To conclude, I was very unsatisfied with your service. I would appreciate a full refund for the trip or at least some compensation. I recommend you to relate to my complaints and do something with your wretched service.

.

I Look forward to a prompt reply.

.

Truly yours,

.

Carolin Aniston

much-much better. Well done!

The "Yeled" Organization
14 Borgen street

Haifa

Dear Sir/Madam,

I visited your web-site recently and I was really impressed. I think that your organization is doing a wonderful job with teenagers. I am writing you because I would like to volunteer in your organization. I believe that I could really assist your organization.

First of all, I used to volunteer in a youth movement named "Hazav". I volunteered there for 3 years and I worked with difficult children, and helped them as much as I could. My volunteering in "Hazav" was a life changing experience for me, and I learned a lot throughout these 3 years.

.

Second of all, I am very connected to children and I am interested in helping and counseling other people. I am friendly, kind and generous, so this volunteering work is perfect for me.

.

To conclude, I believe I can be very useful for your organization, and you won't be disappointed . I would be happy to come for an interview.

.

I look forward to your reply.

.

Yours truly,

Shany Raz

This is better

virtual schools

What is the first thing you do when you come back from school? Well I guess some of you might say watch TV, home work . But I know that over 50% of the teenagers run first of all toward the computer. Almost every one of us loves the computer and prefers going on line instead of going all the way to school. What would you do if you could learn from your computer at home with no need to get out of the sofa? Well, this is what the virtual school is all about.

.

On the one hand, the virtual school is a brilliant idea. This is just like home schooling but instead of relying on parents to develop the student's instruction, it allows the students to work with certified teachers. Moreover, the virtual school is good for advanced students. It allows them to progress in their own pace, and so they don’t get bored before the whole class moves to the next chapter. Also, researches have shown that students learning in a virtual classroom did 20% better than students who studied the same material in a regular classroom.

.

On the other hand, the virtual school has some shortcomings as well. First of all, the computers are not perfect and they have a lot of problems, so we can't depend only on the computers.

Furthermore, the virtual school has all the disadvantages that exist in home schooling. For example, in a virtual school the student does not get any physical and verbal interaction with the other students.

.

To conclude, in my opinion, virtual schools are a good idea. However, I think that the virtual school has to come as an addition to the regular school and not instead of it. I believe that the virtual school can add innovation to the education of the teenagers of today.

.
